My “real” job sees me drive by a building on the side of U.S. 287 outside of Vernon, TX. It sits just far enough off the road I could never get a really good look at it or see any signage. Obviously, I finally had to divert myself.
What I found was an abandoned peanut processing facility. I never in my life knew there was a peanut plant anywhere in this part of the state. Anyway, every time I drove past it after that I thought, I should take some video there. Smaller towns, with their empty buildings, silos, and often downtowns in a state of disrepair feel like echoes from the past to me. I wanted to capture just a little bit of that.
